Since my last post, I went to the beach (yes SEA GLASS!) we found a dead stray cat on the lawn, my computer caught a virus, and we got incredible amounts of snow in our first snow storm of the season! Those of you who were following me on twitter would have noticed the saga of Cat Doe. R. and I went door-to-door but no one would own up to the dead cat (which had been hit by a car and someone either placed it on our lawn or it died there). So we gave it a home and buried it ourselves in the back yard, before the snow came. The poor thing was frozen when I picked it up with a snow shovel, but I didn't want to leave it there because our neighborhood isn't THAT trashy to the point where we leave dead cats sticking everywhere. And we couldn't stand looking at it because it was only 10 feet from the front door. (We live 15 feet from a main road).
ANYWAY, now for something cute and happy, a Chickadee at the suet feeder!
The day after Cat Doe, I got called into work, but when I got home R. said to me the dreaded words, "I think your laptop has a virus." AND IT DID. It took me 3 hours of geeking out but I completely rid the computer of the most terrible virus I ever encountered (PowerfulVirusRemover2008 (dot) com)...do NOT go to that site, because it will automatically disable your anti-virus and infect your computer. I didn't go to that site, but I have a sneaking suspicion I picked it up from rabidly dropping hundreds Entrecards across every Entrecard enabled blog I could find. As a result, I've been wary of Entrecard ever since. I just have to be more careful, and so do you. If you encounter this virus and wish to try to get rid of it yourself, please contact me. But...please note that the only reason I was able to defeat this virus was because I own two computers and an external harddrive, and the older dinosaur from 2002 wasn't infected. I have a post on Livejournal with some very choice words about the whole incident, but it's also how I solved the problem. Once the virus was defeated, I commenced with playing the MacGyver theme over and over. ha.Now, SEA GLASS! The day before Cat Doe, R. and I went to the beach, and had amazing finds!

Many pre-1860 "black glass" deep olive green shards.
And an "upkick" from the pontil of a bottle!

11 cents, the dime is dated 1972.
And then, the best find that wasn't discovered until we got home....

Another piece of uranium vaseline glass!Yesterday R. and I started talking about Peter Gabriel because we were talking about "Sledgehammer" and the music video for that.
I mentioned that I saw Peter Gabriel during his Growing Up tour on November 26, 2002 at Mohegan Sun and this led to a conversation about the part of the concert where he was walking around in a giant ball.
Sadly, even though I was sitting in the second row, these pictures were taken with my original digital camera, a Sony DSC-p31 which was only 2MP with a 5x digital zoom. So you can't really even tell it's Peter Gabriel except for the giant ball. And I was dumb enough to delete all the other pictures I took, so these 5 pictures are all I have from the concert. I later bought the concert DVD from Tower Records on South St. in Philadelphia in 2005, which...if you love Peter Gabriel, seriously go buy that DVD because if you weren't there...you totally missed it.

Oh yes, and since we mentioned Sledgehammer, this last photo was taken when he performed it.
Little known fact: Peter Gabriel is my favorite male musician, and we share the same birthday. The first album I remember hearing when I was 2 was So.And on that happy note, Merry Christmas!

Wow, looks like you have had a heck of a time. That is sad about the kitty, I just can't believe no one owned up to it...
I have never seen snow like that, we usually just get ice storms. Ickie.
